Client: State University (25,000 students population)

Project Description: Brandywine CAD Design competed against several local and national firms for a contract with the University. The scope of this contract included assisting the University in the establishment of a CAD department with the ultimate goal of converting 350 campus buildings into electronic drawing files.

Brandywine CAD was successfully awarded that contract and promptly began defining and documenting CAD standards, customized for their needs. These standards were adopted for an all in-house work and became a prerequisite for all outside consultants to follow. Each building conversion began by sorting through 100 years of design drawings and sketches to determine the most accurate available information to be used in preparing the CAD files. Once accumulated, and using the established standards, we proceeded to convert all architectural plans, drawn to exact dimension, into AutoCAD.

Consequently, the University confronted B-CAD with the challenge of converting their site plans for all (3) campuses into AutoCAD files. The site plans included all roads, buildings, sidewalks, property lines, telephone poles, manholes and underground communication conduits.

Due to their funding restrictions, we were given (30) days in which to accomplish this task. Using the flexibility of our multiple shifts, we were able to complete the project without additional cost.
