Client:
Production Facility Project

Project Description: The project involved (50) large file drawers of equipment maintenance and parts folders. The folders contained a multitude of document types, from single and double-sided bound manuals to large folded drawings. Based on pre-established criteria, B-CAD made the determinations for single and multi-page files. A database of attributes was created for each of the (1,000) files, and the approximately (120,000) images. Upon completion of the production phase, B-CAD assisted the client with installing the document management network software, and loaded in all files and associated attributes. User training was provided on-site to the engineering and maintenance staff.

Description of internal QA/QC processes and controls used:

Because of the technical nature of the documents, a manager with design experience was required to review each document and determined file increments and associated attributes. The manager filled in an attribute sheet for each of the document files.
The attribute sheet was attached to the document images, which clearly established each document range.
The documents were scanned using duplex scanners.
The attributes were entered into the Document Management database.
QC was performed on the image and associated database attributes, simultaneously, using the actual Document Management software, in the editing mode.
